I have assisted many organizations in reaching their goals. Here are some examples:
- Before the first free election in South Africa in 1994, I trained election monitors in de-escalation techniques. I also trained lawyers acting as mediators or arbitrators between rivaling political parties as well as call center operators dealing with traumatized people. The Electoral Commission in my area was rated as the best in the entire country.
- I trained top executives of a company now listed on the NYSE to present themselves to future investors when their company conducted its IPO. The executives integrated the requisite skills in their presentations and persuaded key institutional investors to buy stocks of their company. The IPO was a tremendous success and exceeded everyone's expectations.
- I assisted a large multinational company in divesting from an industry they no longer wanted to pursue. I trained the top executives of the local subsidiaries to present their company before and after due diligence. I also facilitated the negotiations. The multi-billion dollar deal was a tremendous success and brought in much more money than the company originally hoped for.
- I was able to help a medium-sized supplier in the automotive industry salvage their business relationship with their key customer. After the first negotiation between the supplier, an OEM and an automotive manufacturer failed, the company called me. On request of the management, I facilitated the negotiation. This allowed my client to retain their business on better terms than they had planned.
- In 2004, I trained more than half of the staff of a large German IT company for integration with their new parent company from the US. The two-day training included intercultural and business communication skills. This allowed the company to improve their overall level of communication, raise employee awareness and avoid cross-cultural misunderstandings.
